About the Artist
Elaine Hranich

Picture

Elaine, the youngest of six children, grew up living in the small coastal community of Toms River, New Jersey and spent much time outdoors as a child. She lived in central New Jersey surrounded by beautiful farm land for 20 years before moving and settling in Maine over a couple of decades ago.

Her art guidance has been primarily through private instruction and in recent years she has attended multiple workshops in Maine and Vermont. She is grateful to those who introduced her to plein air painting as this has provided her with the opportunity to paint the essence of nature. She enjoys Maine’s four distinct seasons, which provide continuous variations in the surrounding landscapes and scenery. Elaine enjoys both plein air painting and experimenting with multiple mediums including pastels, watercolors, oils and acrylics. She has her own unique palette knife and color style.
Elaine has gallery marketing experience and has curated fine art exhibits for multiple venues and
artists throughout Midcoast Maine..
Elaine attended the Ogunquit Plein Air Event in September and received 1st place in the amateur division with a pastel painting of the Perkins Cove Bridge in the open position. This competition was judged by David Lussier.
